MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech at the United Supermarkets Arena on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Saturday’s contest marks the 24th all-time meeting between the Mountaineers (7-20, 0-14 Big 12) and Red Raiders (14-12, 3-10 Big 12). West Virginia opened Big 12 Conference play against Texas Tech earlier this season was a five-set thriller in Morgantown that ultimately fell to the Red Raiders.
WVU is coming off a match against TCU on Nov. 16, where fifth-year senior outside hitter Adrian Ell notched her fourth triple-double of the season, tallying 14 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs in a five-set loss to the Horned Frogs at the WVU Coliseum.
Junior libero Skye Stokes led the squad against TCU with 20 digs, marking her sixth match this season with 20 or more digs. Stokes also leads the squad for the season in digs (356) and service aces (30). The Chester, West Virginia, native holds the 2022 Big 12 Conference single-match digs season high, with 36. Additionally, Stokes sits fifth in the Big 12 with 3.91 digs per set and is eighth in service aces with 0.33 per set.
Freshman Bailey Miller racked up 13 kills and 10 digs in her last outing, good enough for her eighth double-double on the campaign. Of note, Miller leads WVU in kills (278) and is second in digs (211). Classmate and middle blocker Tierney Jackson tops the Mountaineers with 87 blocks for the season.
Coming into the match, West Virginia ranks second in the Big 12 in opponent kills per set (11.54) and opponent assists per set (10.77).
