A Cumberland, Maryland, man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Bedford County during Tuesday’s snow.
State police said the 70-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Cruze was traveling south on the 3000 block of Route 96, Hyndman Road, in Londonderry Township when he lost control of the vehicle on the heavily snow-covered road about 2:51 p.m. The vehicle went into the northbound lane and rotated about 90 degrees, police reported, and was struck on the driver’s side by a Toyota Rav4 operated by a 43-year-old Hyndman woman.
The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported. A 30-year-old passenger in his vehicle suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the Toyota suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to Western Maryland Hospital.
