Those receiving a new tablet or smartphone for the holidays can get the most from it as librarians are offering one-on-one tech help on the afternoon of Jan. 10 at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.
Those interested can schedule an appointment by calling the library at 440-255-8811, ext. 1. The librarians can help attendees get oriented with a new device or assist with using software like Zoom or Microsoft Word, according to a news release.
They are unable to troubleshoot or fix malfunctioning devices, replace physical parts on devices, or participate in credit-card transactions.
Also, everyone can learn about the library’s digital services during a program at 10 a.m., Jan. 7, at the Main Branch. Attendees can discover how to enjoy ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming music and video, and online classes for free on smartphones, tablets or computers.
Attendees should bring their device with them as this program is for anyone with a smartphone, iPad or other tablet.
