SOUTHINGTON — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Nicholas B. Tamarkin has been named 2022 Trooper of the Year at the Warren patrol post.
Tamarkin, 26, is being recognized for his outstanding service during 2022. He was chosen for the honor by his fellow officers stationed at the post located on U.S. Route 422 because of his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, an enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with his supervisors, peers and the public, according to a news release from the patrol.
Joining the patrol in 2018, Tamarkin has served at the Warren post for three-and-a-half years. A graduate of Ursuline High School, the former Liberty Township resident also attended Youngstown State University. He has earned the criminal certificate, the safe driving award and the physical fitness award.
Tamarkin is now in contention for district and state Trooper of the Year honors, which will be announced at a later date.
