K-pop and K-drama influence
Are you a
BTS,
While for some these K-pop bands and shows are mere entertainment, for many, it is also something they look up to where the singers and actors become their perfect ‘Idols’.
SOUTH KOREA – THE BIGGEST MARKET FOR COSMETIC SURGERY
A recent survey suggested that at least 1 in 3 South Korean women between the age of 19 to 29 opt for some kind of cosmetic surgery. Many have thoughts that while this is a general something that people there do, it might also be an influence of Korean dramas and other entertainment.
Where many K-celebs endorse and promote beauty products, while also following a routine to keep their skin in the porcelain form, there is a thought that even the fans might follow it as well. While a certain routine might be fine, there can be a probability that few might even follow the route of cosmetic surgery.
Additionally, many Indians like dressing like their favourite K-Drama celebrities. They take inspiration from them. Experts claim that young people under the age of 25 are more likely to be interested in the trend.
They want to look better and feel more confident about their own skin. For this, people might opt for different ways where one can be cosmetic surgery or any kind of enhancement.
While there have been no studies to show the exact co-relation or any kind of relativity between K-entertainment and cosmetic treatment in India, it certainly won’t be an overstretch to say that there is some kind of impact and effect.
