AUSTIN, Texas — Former Texas Director of Women’s Athletics Donna Lopiano will be among the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame 2023 class.
Lopiano held the position of Director of Women’s Athletics at The University of Texas from 1975-1992. During that time women’s teams at Texas won 18 national championships in six different sports, including the 1985-86 first undefeated NCAA champion (34-0) in women’s basketball.
From 1992-2007 Lopiano served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Women’s Sports Foundation. She was selected to the Fox Sports “The 10 Most Powerful Women in Sports” list.
Lopiano is a member of the Texas and Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame.
